Personal Trainer

Well, I have seriously been slacking on the blogging. My apologies. It seems that I go through phases; I'll have a lot of time to blog, and then I'll have none. Anyway, I'm squeezing it in today.

To follow up on the Fastest Loser, I have quit... Well not quit, but transitioned. My mom and I have stopped keeping track of our competition, so I'm thinking it's over. BUT, our short little competition was a great motivator! It inspired me to look into personal training. I lucked out and talked to a new trainer who is looking for clients, and since I work at the gym, he offered to train me for FREE! Score! So I signed right up and have been doing it for about two weeks.

Let me tell ya, it's so much better than working out on your own. The trainer tells you exactly what to do and what it's for, and gives you motivation to get to the gym. Just having an appointment at the gym forces you to get there, and then once you're there it's easy to work out. I feel like I'm making so much more progress than I was when I was just doing cardio on my own; AND it feels like less work. At first I thought I'd be embarrassed since I am so weak, but he was totally understanding and got a feel for where I was at before he had me do anything. And now, I can already tell I'm getting stronger!

I am just very impressed with the whole process and would recommend it to anyone. The trainer I see is at Timberhill Athletic Club and his name is Isaac Etter. Since he's a new trainer, I think he has a discount going of half off every visit, which makes it $25 an hour instead of the normal $50. And if price is an issue, you can always just meet once a week or every other week to practice your exercises and then continue the routine on your own--that's actually what I've been doing.

Here is the link to his facebook page for his training:

He posts good exercise and diet tips even if you aren't interested in training.

Anyway, I'm just very excited! Hope this post wasn't too boring for ya, because it's very exciting for me!
